I'm Jewel Jackson, aka JJ, and I’m a Vietnamese-American with a BA in Studio Art from University of Hawai’i at Mānoa. I’m currently a staff artist at Creative Associates, or the Peanuts Studio, in Santa Rosa, California and I freelance on the side as an illustrator, graphic designer, and comic flatter.

I’m a firm believer in visual rhetoric principles and semiotics to convey ideas and messages in effective and meaningful ways. I mainly use a combination of traditional watercolors, Procreate, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign for my work.

If I’m not drawing or designing, then I’m either writing, hiking, rollerblading, or playing my thousandth hour of Slay the Spire while I watch a 3 hour video essay. I love mermaids and xenomorphs, and if you love them too, then I love you.
